چکیده

This paper focuses on the loading and release studies of tetracycline as model drug from spherical aggregates of micron size (approx. 1.2 μm in diameter) of barium hexaferrite (BaO·6Fe2O3) synthetized from wet chemical sol-gel method via spray drying. BaO·6Fe2O3 aggregates were characterized using x-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The load capacity of BaO·6Fe2O3 systems was reached at 40 minutes after contact with tetracycline drug. Release of tetracycline was confirm from E. coli bacterial death when BaO·6Fe2O3 particles were in contact with the bacteria.

Drug release rate and kinetic investigation of composite polymeric nanofibers

Objective(s): In this work, electrospun nanofibers were explored as drug delivery vehicles using tetracycline as a model drug.  Nanocomposite fibers including chitosan (CS)/poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO) and antibiotic were successfully prepared using electrospinning. CS blended with PEO considering a weight ratio of (90/10), and then, nanofibrous samples were successfully e...

Bonding of Phosphoramides onto B-C59 Nanostructure as Drug Delivery Systems

The structures of boron-doped fullerene B-C59 (1) as a drug delivery system (DDS), two phosphoramides (2 and 3) which were analogous to the cyclophosphamide anticancer prodrug as well as their covalently bonded structures to B-C59 (4 and 5) were optimized by DFT computations at B3LYP level of theory using 6-31G(d) basis set. Comparing compounds 4 and 5 revealed that the chloro derivative (-1429...

In-vitro study of Ketoprofen release from synthesized silica aerogels (as drug carriers) and evaluation of mathematical kinetic release models

Silica aerogels are porous and extremely lightweight nano-materials shows interesting properties. These materials, because of biocompatibility, non-harmful to the body and special physical characteristics such as large surface area and low density have great potential for use in a drug delivery system (DDS). The focus of this study is the evaluation of the effects of silica aerogels on improvin...
